Note: On this particular ball head, there is no anti-twisting mechanism (e.g. set screw or pin) to keep our retrofitted clamp from potentially loosening in the field. For more security, we recommend using epoxy or loctite to keep the clamp from twisting. Even with loctite, we do not recommend using this retrofitted clamp with the Sidekick because the particular geometry of the Sidekick puts significant stress on this connection.

 

Wimberley Clamp to Install:

 

The C-10 clamp (2.5" in length) with hardware can be used for retrofitting specific models of Cambo, FLM, Giottos, Gitzo, Kaiser, Manfrotto, and Novoflex ball heads.

 

  Hardware/Tools Included
-Reducer Bushing - 3/8-16 to ¼-20 (Brass)
-Set Screw - 1/4 X .375
-Hex Key - 1/8

Retrofit Instructions:   

Leave "as is" . No removal is neccessary.      
Use the 1/8" hex key to remove the set screw from the original location near the center of the clamp, and install (using hex key) into one of the outer holes. Screw the quick-release clamp onto the ball head mounting platform as tightly as possible. Tighten the 1/4" set screw firmly using the enclosed 1/8" hex key. Installation complete
