Quick Release Clamps

C-10 Quick-Release Clamp ($79.00)

The C-10 clamp is 2.5" long. It has a central 3/8" threaded hole that can be used to fasten it to a tripod head or any piece of equipment requiring a quick-release clamp. It also has three 1/4" threaded holes that can be used to keep the clamp from twisting by using multiple fasteners or set screws.

One set screw and its appropriate wrench are included with the C-10. This makes it easy to keep the clamp from twisting without using adhesives or purchasing extra hardware.

The C-10 clamp comes with a 3/8" to 1/4" brass reducer bushing that you can use if your application requires a 1/4" threaded hole instead of a 3/8" hole.

COMPATIBILITY NOTE:
This clamp is not compatible for direct installation on most Bogen & Manfrotto ball heads. Special C-10 mounting kits are available for installation on the following ball heads: Arca-Swiss B1 & Z1, Gitzo 1377M & 1277M, Bogen 468 & 469, 488, Bogen/Manfrotto 468MG (hydrostatic). Please contact us if you have special needs or questions regarding compatibility.

The C-30 clamp was made specifically for the old-style Wimberley Head (WH-100 & WH-101). It is 4.1" long and attaches with two 3/8" stainless steel screws. . The new version of the Wimberley Head (WH-200) has a built-in quick-release clamp, eliminating the need for the C-30.

The added length of the C-30 (1.6" longer than the C-10) provides little added functionality for most applications. We recommend using the lighter and less expensive C-10 clamp.

We are still manufacturing the C-30 for those who wish to retrofit an old-style Wimberley Head, replace a damaged C-30, or have an application that requires a longer clamp.

About Our Clamps

Tongue-in-pocket Design

Our clamps have a unique tongue-in-pocket design that protects internal parts from dust and grit. The tongues are nearly twice as long as those on conventional Arca-Swiss style clamps. This added length counteracts the tendency of the moving jaw of the clamp to hinge backward during clamping, thus keeping the jaws aligned with the geometry of the plate and eliminating unwanted bending forces on the threaded stud.

Captive Knob

There is a stop screw located on the end of the stud. This screw keeps the knob and internal workings of the clamp captive.

Special Grooves

Two shallow channels extend from the sides of the clamp and stop just short of the central tapped hole. These channels allow greater fore-aft adjustment when using the safety stops on Wimberley quick-release plates.
